Info About the League

Boston Pizza Unfortunately, several factors played a role in this season's registration, and the league for this season was cancelled.  Many players stayed away at school in order to work.  I have been in touch with some players from last year who will be interested in coming back next year if we make a couple rule changes.  The good news is this year, although we cancelled the season, had many new players interested in playing.  The season will again run next year, so stay tuned.

For those new to the league, or thinking about joining, here's a brief history. The league originated in Kanata with 3 teams, and when it wasn't going to continue, I took on the task.  We have run with 4 teams ever since.

Each team normally has 5 girls, and 8 guys.  Players range from 17-25 years old.  Participants range from all levels of ball, including houseleague, competitive, men's leagues, and those that are new to the sport.
The league plays games at 630pm and 830pm almost every Sunday and Tuesday for July and August, with an end of the year tournament (4 games per team).
Statistics have always been an interest to my competitive natured personality, so I try to keep up to date statistics for all players and teams throughout the season.
The final characteristic of this league that I find unique is the donations and sponsorships.  Although we never receive cash from any community business, most companies are quick and generous with providing us with awards and donations in form of gift certificates or donations for our league.  These donations are all distributed to players at the end of the season at our annual awards ceremony at Broken Cue. No profit is made by me...this is all volunteer work.
Any more questions, or comments about the league can be sent to midgetsoftball@yahoo.ca
